W during If a new nine-speed automatic converter is working in the most powerful diesel in the current Opel Astra, the Opel engineers decided on a different solution for the gasoline engine: If you don't want to change gear yourself with the 145 hp variant, you get the 1.2-liter three-cylinder instead packed a 1.4 liter under the hood, which is coupled to the also new CVT transmission. We found out what the Astra consumes with this combination in the test.
Our test consumption
Hans-Dieter Seufert
70% of the test consumption is made up of commuters, and 15% Eco and Sport together.
In the manufacturer's data sheet, the WLTP-certified average consumption is specified as 5.6 l / 100 km , which would lead to costs of 7.78 euros at the pump. In the test, however, the Astra consumed an average of 7.2 l / 100 km, which drives the costs by a good two to around ten euros. The compact model only met the manufacturer's specifications on the economical eco lap. with a sporty driving style it increases to 9.2 l / 100 km.
Monthly maintenance costs
The price you have to pay for 100 kilometers at the petrol pump fluctuates in the case of the Opel Astra 1.4 DI Turbo between 7.78 euros (Eco) and 12.78 euros (Sport). What does not fluctuate are of course the fixed costs. The sum for the vehicle tax is 94 euros per year, that of the liability insurance 439 euros. A partially comprehensive insurance also costs you 93 euros a year, and 365 euros are due for fully comprehensive insurance. Anyone who drives 15,000 kilometers per year must expect monthly costs of 247 euros (excluding the loss of value). With an annual mileage of 30,000 kilometers, the amount climbs to 440 euros.
Hans-Dieter Seufert
The basic price of the Opel Astra 1.4 DI Turbo Elegance is 28,880 euros.
This is how testing is done
The auto motor und sport test consumption is made up of three differently weighted consumption trips. 70 percent is what is known as "commuter consumption" (here: 7.1 liters). This is a journey from home to work, which measures an average of 21 kilometers. A particularly economical 275-kilometer eco-lap is included in the evaluation with 15 percent (here: 5.6 liters). The remaining 15 percent is accounted for by the sports driver lap (here: 9.2 liters). The length is roughly the same as the eco-lap, but the route guidance contains a larger proportion of the motorway and therefore higher average speeds. The basis for calculating the fuel costs is always the price of the portal 'more refueling' from the day the article was created.
The monthly maintenance costs include maintenance, wear part costs and vehicle taxes for an assumed annual mileage of 15,000 and 30,000 kilometers / without loss of value. The calculation is based on test consumption, a three-year holding period, no-claims class SF12 for liability and fully comprehensive insurance with Allianz, including discounts for garage parkers and the restriction to certain drivers (not under 21). SF12 means a discount rate of 34 percent for liability and 28 percent for fully comprehensive insurance at Allianz.
