2014 Dodge Charger Rt Top Speed

From what I gather the regular Charger RT is limited to 127 mph. However, the other day my speedometer was registering 140 mph. I do have the active exhaust, sport suspension, performance tires and performance brakes. I know very little at this point about MOPAR products and learning. I also have a Sport Button on the dash. Am I able to run that speed because of the items I have listed?

Ha, I was wondering what the limiter was ... my SXT hit 130 like a brick wall and still had plenty of motor left dang it.

Police Officer two houses down the street said his V6 patrol car will do 142 mph before it runs out of steam.

Stock limiter in my 06 R/T was 155 (default factory setting as shown in tuner). I was a little upset the first time I opened her up as the stock 18's were only rated for 130 and I was a tad above that. Once I had a better foundation I gave it another go, have seen mid 140's in it.

I have never done over 100 mph on the street as that is dangerous and can change your life in an instant. However, when my SRT8 2006 was on the Dyno, it hit the "brick wall" at 169.9 mph. The dyno guys at Akron Horsepower told me that the tires can handle 186 + but they limit it apparently at 169.9 mph.
The newer ones I haven't seen a cogent reference on them.

No wind resistance changes the dyno speed. People drive 100+ in Germany all the time and there isn't death everywhere.
Personal top speed (in the middle of nowhere) is well over 160. I can tell you it takes time in the SRT to get up there and it slowly starts pulling less and less above145. Not sure how realistic the 175 'drag limited' rating is. No idea where that was proven it would take so many miles to hit that.

My personal best in my 2015 RT Road and Track was tonight and topped out at 145 mph on both the regular speedo and the screen maybe if I stayed on it a little longer I' would've hit 147 or 148 but was definitely taking it's time at that point. Seemed like the motor still had it in it but could tell it was being held back.
The stuff you listed doesn't make the car go that speed it's motor, trans, and rear that makes it go but the limiter kills it

Damn I thought it was 147-148 and figured maybe maybe with a decline momentum would get to possibly 150 lol. Oh well 145 is nothing to be ashamed of I guess not like I can do it often or for long periods lol

My '14 R/T Blacktop is supposedly limited at 149 MPH, which is higher than the other R/T packages of that year. Not insane enough to test that out on the the road, though. Lol

I was able to go 174 in my 13 r/t with three people in the car.

I have a '14 Road and Track with the STP and I've hit 148. limiter definitely kicked in around 145 and at that point it was a really slow crawl to 148. I imagine on a hill you could see well over 150
